📄 Description

Summary

Link the in-progress DX-Ball source reconstruction as a real REA showcase immediately after the README's worked investigation flow. This is a user-requested documentation addition; no separate implementation issue is needed.

Problem and expected behavior

Readers see a hypothetical app workflow but no concrete project connecting binary observations to a maintained implementation and independent verification. DX-Ball provides that example while its playable game remains unfinished.

Change and scope

Add one compact README section linking the public project, its REA workflow and its sound-pan/gameplay evidence. Highlight the binary-to-C workflow and its concrete sound-pan checkpoint: 3,205 original-x86 cases and all 63 compiled function bytes. Keep the single in-progress label in the heading; full project progress and verification detail live in the linked owning documentation.

Contract and boundary impact

  • Semantic owner and earliest changed stage: README product narrative.
  • CLI and MCP/tool-catalog contract: unchanged.
  • Provider, bridge, target-format, or platform compatibility: no change or expanded host claim.
  • Evidence, artifact, provenance, or reconstruction contract: no change; independent project oracles remain separate from REA observations.
  • Process execution, authorization, cleanup, or containment impact: none.
  • Generated metadata, package, or installation impact: none.

Evidence and regression coverage

  • Tests added or updated: none for this prose/link addition.

  • Source evidence: reviewed published demo main d91aa0ffb11d03ed5f4f118c9a73415b609d01db, its REA/gameplay/oracle/progress documentation and acceptance ledgers.

  • User-visible output: a concise showcase with an in-progress heading and a concrete verified project checkpoint.

  • Remaining proof gaps: no private target, original-x86 or compiler oracle was executed during this documentation review. Project-recorded scopes are not new REA verification claims.

  • Observed, derived, and inferred claims remain distinguishable.

  • Artifact identity, source provenance, and failed attempts remain preserved.

  • Unsupported, incomplete, unavailable, or uncertain outcomes remain visible.

Validation performed

  • npx oxfmt README.md and git diff --check — passed.
  • GitHub API checks — project README, REA workflow and gameplay evidence links resolve to published files.
  • Final prose/diff review — only README changed; existing generated sections and Star history footer preserved. Required hooks/CI must pass before merge.

Compatibility, safety, and release

  • Breaking changes or migration steps: none.
  • Real Hopper/Ghidra, browser, or OS coverage: not run; this documents an existing external project, not new provider support.
  • Package or release metadata impact: none.
  • Security, privacy, process, or containment review: no target assets, private paths, installations or background processes.

Review checklist

  • Focused Conventional Commit title and scope.
  • Request and reason for no separate issue explained.
  • Documentation claims checked against owning source.
  • No contracts/generated outputs require changes.
  • The visible example and limits are explicit.
  • No secrets, unrelated changes or unsupported whole-game claims.
