Summary

Sync the frozen 5.0.0 checkpoint's release metadata and tag ancestry into current main.

Align package/lock/manifest, registry metadata, README version markers, and changelog to 5.0.0.
Regenerate the product catalog from main's current contracts.
Preserve main's later runtime/contract changes and the newer #1006 release workflow, documentation, and regression tests.
Use a merge commit for this PR so rea-agents-5.0.0 remains an ancestor of main for future Release Please history.

Related: #1003, #1006, #1007. The release candidate passed 26/26 checks and was reviewed at aff3fb22; its release commit is b33236ec08. The GitHub tag has been verified against that exact SHA.

Release publication is verified: GitHub release, npm 5.0.0 with gitHead b33236ec, and MCP Registry 5.0.0. The official publication run passed the public CLI, 133/133 MCP tool catalog, target-free session, and isolated update from 4.1.0 to 5.0.0. Merge after this PR's CI/review pass.

Verification

npm run build:cached — passed.
npm run docs:generate and npm run docs:check — passed.
npm run test:focused -- tests/boundary/filesystem/releaseWorkflow.test.ts tests/conformance/releaseConfiguration.test.ts — 32 tests passed.
npm run check:fast — passed.
git diff HEAD --check — passed before the merge commit.
Audited the exact 13-path metadata diff; the current main workflow/guide/tests were preserved byte-for-byte.

No new product behavior or provider support claim. Real Hopper/Ghidra verification was not performed for this metadata synchronization; CI owns package/platform checks. The live release workflow separately verifies packaged artifacts and the public npm CLI/MCP/update consumer before MCP publication.

Closed after the maintainer synchronized this release directly at 966cca8e, preserving the public tag ancestry. Remaining default-credential and checked-release-guide corrections are in #1012.
