Before submitting

  • I searched the open and closed issues for a related report.
  • I removed credentials, tokens, private paths, and sensitive target data.

Area

Native analysis or decompilation

Observed behavior

inspect_recorded_crash reports a well-formed .ips crash report from a Rosetta-translated process as partial, with a type mismatch at threads[].threadState.rosetta.value, and the Rosetta registers recorded in the report do not appear in the result.

Reproduction

Ran on Linux (WSL Ubuntu, Node 24.22.1) at upstream/main 3ce311757, through the IPS parser in a test, with a body thread of:

{ "threadState": { "flavor": "x86_THREAD_STATE", "rip": { "value": 4294983680 }, "rosetta": { "tmp0": { "value": 7 }, "tmp1": 8 } } }

Coverage is partial and only rip is reported.

Expected behavior

complete coverage, with the nested Rosetta registers reported.

Impact and scope

Crash reports of x86_64 apps running under Rosetta on Apple silicon. Agents see a valid report as incomplete and lose register values.

REA version

6.7.0, revision 3ce311757

Runtime and platform

Linux (WSL Ubuntu), Node 24.22.1

Target and artifact context

Synthetic .ips fixture modelled on the documented format.

Interface

MCP

Earliest failure stage

Artifact or evidence registration

Relevant output or evidence

Root cause and fix are in #6976, with the regression tests.

Typed outcome or recovery expected

No new error.

Analysis or suspected cause

Root cause and fix are in #6976.

Additional context

Fixed by #6976.
