Area / interface

Evidence, artifacts, or reconstruction / agent environment state intake.

Observed behavior

Source-derived maintenance finding: inline state files use a local padded-base64 validator instead of the shared domain parser, and check the decoded-byte budget after constructing the decoded buffer. This duplicates format interpretation and allocation admission.

Reproduction and evidence

Inspected latest main at b594fbc3e739ade1fbb9ce38846ed1c3a991273e: src/server/environment/stateIntake.ts, src/domain/paddedBase64.ts, and src/domain/stringPatterns.ts. No full environment HTTP workflow has been run at issue creation; NOT_ENOUGH_INFO for end-to-end behavior and comparative workflow costs yet.

Expected behavior

Use the shared padded-base64 owner, preserve admitted syntax and typed malformed-input outcomes, and enforce the existing decoded-byte budget before allocation. Keep inline, file and HTTPS state intake provenance consistent.

Scope and validation plan

Ordinary parser/admission maintenance; no new target execution or authority. Verify shared syntax compatibility, decoded sizes and boundary values, the real environment state-intake workflow, unchanged source metadata and retained state, and relevant failure/cancellation/cleanup cases. Measure representative completed workflows under bounded resources. Private report details are not part of this public tracker.
