📄 Description

Summary

Recognize Omarchy as an Arch-based Linux host when /etc/os-release declares ID=omarchy and an Arch package family. This fixes the unsupported-host diagnostic and allows the existing Arch Hopper setup plan to be selected.

Problem and expected behavior

On Omarchy 4.0.4, /etc/os-release declares ID=omarchy and ID_LIKE=arch. REA identified the Arch package family but rejected the distribution because its explicit allowlist omitted Omarchy. doctor therefore reported unsupported_host even with a working Ghidra installation.

Omarchy should be recognized explicitly while unrelated Arch derivatives and Omarchy identities without an Arch package family remain rejected. This was found during local setup; there is no linked issue. Omarchy's official manual documents its Arch base.

Change and scope

Add Omarchy to the existing classification boundary, gated by packageFamily === "arch". Update setup/doctor remediation and installation documentation. Extend the existing classification cases and remove the misleading vendor-support wording from their test description.

Contract and boundary impact

  • Semantic owner and earliest changed stage: parseLinuxDistribution, before doctor diagnostics and setup planning.
  • CLI and MCP/tool-catalog contract: no schema or tool changes; host diagnostics and setup eligibility change.
  • Provider, bridge, target-format, or platform compatibility: recognize Omarchy's Arch package family; provider implementations are unchanged.
  • Evidence, artifact, provenance, or reconstruction contract: unchanged.
  • Process execution, authorization, cleanup, or containment impact: existing approval and package-manager paths remain in use.
  • Generated metadata, package, or installation impact: no new installer, dependency, or tracked generated artifact. The existing Arch Hopper installation plan becomes eligible on Omarchy.

Evidence and regression coverage

  • Tests accept Omarchy 4.0.4 with ID_LIKE=arch, reject absent or Debian lineage, and retain rejection of other unsupported derivatives.
  • Source-derived base reproduction: the base allowlist omits omarchy, so the added positive case fails on the base implementation.
  • Executed CLI observation on Omarchy 4.0.4: the host check changes from unsupported_host to healthy, retaining detail omarchy 4.0.4; scoped Codex/Ghidra/skill doctor reports healthy: true.
  • Remaining proof gap: Hopper installation and execution on Omarchy have not been verified.

For evidence-bearing changes:

  • Observed, derived, and inferred claims remain distinguishable.
  • Artifact identity, source provenance, and failed attempts remain preserved.
  • Unsupported, incomplete, unavailable, or uncertain outcomes remain visible.

Validation performed

  • npm run test:local -- src/application/LinuxHopper.test.ts src/application/Doctor.test.ts src/application/Setup.recovery.test.ts — 68 tests passed on the final branch.
  • npm run check — passed on the final branch.
  • npm run docs:check — passed on the final branch.
  • npm run verify:ghidra — real Ghidra 12.1.4 on Omarchy 4.0.4, Linux x64; host-native debug, stripped, type-layout, and jump-table fixtures passed. Native-value CLI/stdio MCP parity passed with 383 successful calls and 52 expected rejections; cleanup completed. This lane ran before rebasing over six upstream commits that did not change the touched host/setup or Ghidra implementation.

The initial final-branch check was terminated with exit 137 inside the agent sandbox; the successful rerun used the ordinary host environment. Documentation generation and real-provider verification also used the host environment because sandboxed subprocesses did not return usable output.

Compatibility, safety, and release

  • Breaking changes or migration steps: none.
  • Real Hopper/Ghidra, browser, or OS coverage: real Omarchy/Ghidra coverage above; Hopper on Omarchy and other platforms were not verified.
  • Package or release metadata impact: none.
  • Security, privacy, process, or containment review: explicit distribution admission; other derivatives stay rejected. Existing setup approval, backup, and cleanup behavior is unchanged. No local toolchains, credentials, or analysis artifacts are included.

Review checklist

  • This PR addresses a concrete problem or an agreed enhancement.
  • The PR has one focused outcome and the title follows type(scope): outcome.
  • Related issue is linked, or the reason for not linking one is stated above.
  • Tests cover changed observable behavior and meaningful failure paths.
  • Owning docs, contracts, and generated metadata are updated where needed.
  • User-visible CLI/MCP changes include representative output.
  • I checked the final diff for secrets, unrelated cleanup, and unsupported claims.
