📄 Description

Summary

Kuna optimization decisions and measurements were scattered across PRs and experiments. Add rea-analysis-optimization, a contributor skill for finding provider/shared-workflow bottlenecks, preserving Evidence and cache ownership, and comparing equivalent completed investigations. Link it from CONTRIBUTING.

The short entrypoint routes to an optional Kuna case study with pinned revisions, real-workflow measurements, and explicit limits: the ~5.5x warm-lookup improvement establishes no whole-task, memory, token, or agent-quality improvement. Experimental native query/byte work remains labeled experimental.

Scope

Documentation and skill discovery metadata only. No runtime, CLI/MCP contract, provider, packaged analysis skill, or generated-output changes. Additional target-execution scope approval is not applicable. Requested directly by the human owner; no separate issue needed.

Validation

  • Skill creator validator, local link destinations, UI YAML, changed-file formatting, and git diff --check: passed.
  • npm run docs:check: passed, including 5 consistency tests.
  • npm exec -- turbo run lint:built format:check knip metadata:check --concurrency=1: passed; npm run verify:architecture-guards: passed.
  • npm run check: incomplete. Root TypeScript checking reached the 3.25 GiB early memory guard and was stopped (last observed OOM/kill counters zero). It is not reported as passing. The push hook's repeat of this full typecheck is omitted after that resource stop; hosted checks remain required.

Heavy local tasks used one CPU and a 4 GiB process-family hard limit. Documentation checking completed in 99.75 s wall / 98.60 s CPU with a 2.77 GiB kernel family peak including cache; payload cleanup and zero OOM events were verified. No new native-provider benchmark or independent model-use evaluation was run for this documentation change; the case study identifies its historical evidence and limits.

Hosted validation

Current-head CI passed on 471769c45a0268fb9f07bbdc5159cd1f799e2cea: static checks including typecheck, source tests, all five compiled test shards, build, docs generation, Linux native package baseline, portable tests, and the required gate. Greptile review passed (5/5), with no inline comments or unresolved review threads. Codex review was unavailable because the repository review quota was exhausted; it did not produce a code finding.

The six historical LLVM benchmark logs were re-read to verify the case study's medians, 28-read workload, equal result digests, and resource observations. This was a check of recorded data, not a new performance trial.

Author readiness

Declarations are entered by the agent at the human owner’s explicit direction. Diff and evidence checks reported here were performed by the agent; this does not assert a separately observed human review.

  • I reviewed the final diff and relevant existing code, understand the change and its edge cases, and take responsibility for the complete PR, including AI-assisted work.
  • I checked the evidence above, confirmed it supports the current change, and recorded meaningful validation gaps.
  • I declare this PR ready for initial maintainer review.
