Contexto

rea import-reference-source ROOT already safely inventories a caller-selected local tree, preserves historical-reference authority and returns a committed HistoricalSourceGraph. Large graphs are awkward for the first question: what source inventory, languages, manifests and root structure were actually observed?

GitReverse demonstrates the usefulness of a compact repository context before producing a reconstruction request. Reviewed reference: github.com/filiksyos/gitreverse@20864c6a05. That snapshot declares no repository/package license; this proposal uses independently implemented behavior within REA, with no upstream code or prompt text copied.

Objetivo

Add an explicit compact summary to the existing local reference-source import, retaining complete canonical graph output as the default.

Escopo

  • --detail summary reports the committed source manifest, inventory state, provenance, VCS facts, counts and a caller-selected outline depth.
  • Derive all facts from the importer's canonical graph; retain source exclusions, parse-failure counts and limitations.
  • Report outline omission separately from examined source coverage. Do not turn missing or excluded files into confirmed absence.
  • Preserve complete output and existing failures/cleanup behavior when options are omitted.
  • No remote repository fetch, LLM call, source execution or original-prompt authenticity claim.

Critérios de aceite

  • Real CLI tests cover unchanged complete output and explicit summary selection on an owned fixture.
  • Manifest/source commitments match the full graph; summary does not mutate it.
  • Outline ordering follows REA's Unicode code-point contract, including non-ASCII paths.
  • Depth selection, partial inventories, exclusions and unknown file sizes remain explicit.
  • Representative output/time measurements distinguish output bytes from unmeasured agent tokens.
  • Relevant tests, static checks, documentation checks and discovery pass.

Perguntas para decisão

The first increment uses the existing CLI-only import; an MCP repository-context capability is a separate proposal, not an implicit provider addition.

Observações técnicas

Use docs/specs/reference-source/repository-summary/{spec.md,plan.md,tasks.md}. Reuse createHistoricalSourceManifest, importReferenceSource, canonical path ordering and current resource ownership. This is a local projection inside existing contribution boundaries.
