Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/open-webui/computer/issues/48

I've setup gateway and kept default model select option Use workspace/default model. With this setting, i get an error in OpenWebUI No model connections configured. Add a connection in cptr settings. and see in the cptr logs INFO: 127.0.0.1:60970 - "POST /v1/chat/completions HTTP/1.1" 503 Service Unavailable.

As a workaround, I've chosen manually default model for the gateway.

I'd be glad to investigate further this issue if help is appreciated

Confirmed, it works now. Yet met another issue in OpenWebUI with thinking block right in the model answer like this:

<think>
The user has sent a casual greeting "hey there". I should respond in a friendly, warm manner as a conversational opener. No function calls needed here - this is just a social greeting.
</think>
Hey! How's it going? What can I help you with today? 😊

With these headers set in OpenWebUI connection, all model requests go to the utility branch in cptr's chat completions router:

{
  "X-OpenWebUI-Chat-Id": "{{CHAT_ID}}",
  "X-OpenWebUI-Message-Id": "{{MESSAGE_ID}}",
  "X-OpenWebUI-User-Message-Id": "{{USER_MESSAGE_ID}}",
  "X-OpenWebUI-User-Message-Parent-Id": "{{USER_MESSAGE_PARENT_ID}}",
  "X-OpenWebUI-Task": "{{TASK}}"
}

@naqerl those headers require Open WebUI dev branch atm, we're expecting to do a new release with in a few days.

I confirm this working. Sent the following prompts from OpenWebUI and got proper responses and multiple tool calls:

  • What files to you see?
  • Explore the repo and describe it’s contents
