Hello,

I discovered a couple of UX issues with the workspace chat list that could be improved:

  1. The expand/collapse button for viewing all chats within a workspace uses a folder icon positioned in front of the folder name. This is not intuitive, as the folder icon typically represents a folder/file rather than an expandable action.
  2. There is no quick way to delete individual chats from the workspace list without clicking the workspace pen icon.

I suspect the current design choice of using the folder icon for both the folder representation and the expand action creates confusion and poor discoverability. Adding a three-dot menu alongside each chat would significantly improve the user experience by making chat management more efficient.

Thank you for your work and I wish you all a great day,
Joshua Krimmer

🔍 Related Issues Found

I found some existing issues that might be related. Please check if any of these are duplicates or contain helpful solutions:

  1. 🟣 #29 issue: no buttons for chat creation or opening the chat overview, only shortcuts
This issue is about missing chat management affordances in the workspace/chat overview, which overlaps with the request for a more discoverable per-chat deletion action. It doesn't mention the icon concern directly, but it is the closest UX-related chat-list issue found.

  2. 🟣 #30 issue: chat overview doesnt update live - you need to close and open for new chats to show up
This concerns the workspace chat overview behavior and refresh/discoverability of newly created chats, so it's related to the same sidebar/workspace chat list area. The core bug is different, but it touches the same UI surface and chat list management flow.

  3. 🟣 #79 Chat renders twice (wrong workspace then correct) when opening a chat in a different workspace
This is the only issue found that explicitly involves cross-workspace chat interactions in the sidebar/workspace context. While it is about rendering, not deletion/expand controls, it is related to the same workspace navigation and chat-opening flow.
