📄 Description

Summary

I compared the provider connection pages with the connection dialog (AddConnectionModal.svelte) and routers/openai.py on dev.

  • The field is labeled Model IDs, under Advanced. Four pages called it "Model IDs (Filter)". It is also not a filter: with entries, Open WebUI stops calling the provider's /models and lists exactly what was typed, which the OpenAI page now says.
  • Prefix IDs are joined with a dot, not a slash. The example now shows groq.qwen3.6 and warns what a groq/ prefix produces.
  • Saving a connection does not verify it. The Verify Connection button does.
  • The OpenAI-compatible page's "slower connections" example lowered the timeout below its default. It now raises it.
  • The Anthropic page said requests are translated. Chat requests go unchanged to Anthropic's OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Only model discovery is special-cased, and Open WebUI's own /api/v1/messages endpoint passes through natively, which the page now mentions.
  • The llama.cpp and vLLM pages referred to a Standard / Compatible tab that does not exist, one field as "API URL" (it is URL), and told users to type none as the key. Auth: None is the setting for keyless servers.
  • Pipe functions appear in the model selector, not the chat sidebar.

None.

Checklist

  • I have reviewed the relevant documentation and matched the existing style.
  • This PR meets Open WebUI's contribution standards: it is accurate, relevant to users, narrowly scoped, maintainable, and not promotional content, advertising, lead generation, SEO placement, or a request to list a product, service, provider, integration, gateway, tool, or company primarily for visibility.
  • I understand that PRs that do not meet these standards may be closed without review and will not be merged. Repeated, low-quality, off-topic, promotional, or intentionally misleading submissions may result in the contributor being blocked from future participation in Open WebUI repositories.

Notes for reviewers

Sources on dev: prefix handling and the model_ids branch in routers/openai.py (get_all_models), the Anthropic branch in get_models_request and the unchanged /chat/completions request URL, and the labels and the absence of any tab strip in AddConnectionModal.svelte.
