THANK YOU

  • Thank you for making this program.
  • It's absolutely amazing.

ISSUES

  • But the documentation is so convulated I have to run it through an AI to simple answer questions like:
    • How do I manually install?
    • How do I manually update?
    • Should I run it as a user or as root?

SUGGESTIONS

  • If open-ai GUI is showing a message there's an update, with a link to the change log, why not link to the update itself?
  • Why not simplify to a popup saying "Do you want to update? [Yes] [No] [Read Changelog]"

For others upgrading on operating systems that discourage pip and starting open-webui as a service

sudo pipx upgrade open-webui
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl restart open-webui

Do you think the docs need more improvements in this regard? They already show how to manually install and update - or is the current documentation not good enough? Feedback wanted
