README.md.Expected Behavior
Currently, when MCPO starts up, it tries to establish session connections with the MCP servers. If any MCP server is down or unreachable, MCPO will not start. As a proxy, MCPO should continue to start and run, even if some MCP servers are inaccessible; it should log errors for any unreachable servers instead of preventing startup.
Actual Behavior
If any MCP server is down or unreachable, MCPO will not start.
Steps to Reproduce
add mcp servers to config
start mcpo, it won't start if any mcp server is not reachable.

I think I tend to agree with you, sometimes I have servers that I want to remain in the config but aren't running at the moment. Open WebUI handles for the same situation with tool servers by throwing an unavailable error (but doesn't block other tools from starting - might have a PR for you here.
@taylorwilsdon commented on GitHub (Jul 11, 2025):
It also is impossible to kill the process with ctrl+c when it gets in that state. Seems like a very sensible change.
@taylorwilsdon commented on GitHub (Jul 12, 2025):
Have a full PR ready that addresses this, will get it ship shape tomorrow and put up
