Thanks for the work on this — the leak policy rewrite in PR #65 is a real improvement. While checking its examples I found one takedown claim I couldn't verify, and one that's easy to misread.
The line in
skills/mod-any-game/references/safety.md(and the.agents//.claude/copies):1. "SNK and a Metal Slug recomp" — no source found
I couldn't find any recompilation or fan project that SNK shut down. Searches for a Metal Slug recomp/takedown turn up nothing; the only SNK enforcement I can find is the 2013 NeoGeo X hardware license termination and the 2025 Google Play delistings, neither of which is a recomp. If there's a specific case behind this example, could you add a link? Otherwise it may be worth swapping for a verifiable one.
2. H2M is correct as an example, but the cause is easy to misread
H2M is a good "takedown without assets" case, and the repo text is right. The nuance worth spelling out, because the tempting reading is that H2M was taken down for leaked material:
(PR #65's own description states the opposite cause — "Mods shouldn't ship leaked code, or need a leaked build to run. That's what got the H2M mod taken down." The merged repo text doesn't say this, but the description is public and could be corrected.)
3. Sourcing the examples
Since the guidance is evidence-based elsewhere, it would help if each takedown example carried a source link. I've collected and sourced the cases I could verify (H2M, The Last of Us 2 multiplayer, Turtle WoW, GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition, AM2R, Pokémon Uranium, and older ROM-hack cases) here:
Happy to send a PR with sources if that's useful.
@rehan-remade commented on GitHub (Oct 5, 2026):
Thanks for checking these. You're right on both counts. I couldn't find any source for "SNK and a Metal Slug recomp" either. #89 replaces it with Take-Two's 2021 DMCA and lawsuit against re3 and reVC, and keeps H2M to its facts (a cease-and-desist the day before launch), each with a news source. I also corrected the #65 description, which overstated H2M's cause. I didn't link the takedowns page you collected, because it's on the Open-Source-Modding site, which the repo doesn't link.
