I already asked if it could support local ComfyUI, that's not a bad idea actually. Maybe a menu when you first set it up that gives you a list of API providers and guides you to set one (or more) of them up (kind of like the OpenCode auth TUI setup?)

Two different things use a model here:

  • The agent itself (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Copilot, OpenCode...) runs on whatever model or API you set it up with. The skills and um don't care which. OpenCode, for example, works with almost any provider, including local servers like LM Studio and Ollama.
  • Asset generation (sprites, textures, 3D, audio) is the only part tied to a provider. There are two today:
    • fal, through its MCP server or um fal;
    • a local ComfyUI server through um comfy, which needs no API key and runs your own models.

More asset providers would be welcome as PRs: a new um group following um/comfy.py, plus a line in the fal-assets skill. If there's a specific provider you want, say which.
