If a macOS device has a binding to 0.0.0.0:8000 when ComfyUI starts, with default settings, the app will successfully run on 127.0.0.1:8000, but will not be reachable. The app will instead connect to whatever is running on 0.0.0.0:8000.

This does not impact Windows (linux is untested but purportedly should try next port / act like Windows).

Repro

  1. Run custom HTTP service on port 8000
  2. Run desktop app
  3. Desktop app shows the custom HTTP service instead of ComfyUI

Hi, @webfiltered. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the desktop team manage their backlog and am marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • You reported a macOS-specific problem where ComfyUI binds to 0.0.0.0:8000 and loads an incorrect page instead of 127.0.0.1:8000.
  • This issue does not affect Windows and has not been tested on Linux.
  • The problem can be reproduced by running a custom HTTP service on port 8000 before launching ComfyUI.
  • No further updates or comments have been provided since the initial report.

Next Steps:

  • Please let me know if this issue is still relevant with the latest version of the desktop app by commenting here.
  • If I don’t hear back within 7 days, I will automatically close this issue.

Thanks for your understanding and contribution!
