Prerequisites

  • I have searched the existing issues and checked the recent builds/commits
  • I have read the documentation and this feature is not already available
  • This is a single feature request (not multiple features combined)

Problem Statement

When the user clicks the download button, nothing will happen until the download itself started

Proposed Solution

We should have a new state that is similar to 'trying to download' where the user will see the responsive feedback for a UX improvement

Potential workflow

Click the download button and see it starting, not waiting for a response from the server to show anything first.

Impact Level

Low (Minor enhancement)

Alternatives Considered

No response

Additional information

No response

Hi, @benceruleanlu. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the desktop team manage their backlog and am marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • You suggested improving the download button UX by adding immediate feedback like a "trying to download" state when models are missing.
  • This would help users know the download action is in progress instead of waiting without indication.
  • The request is considered a minor but useful enhancement.
  • There has been no further activity or comments on this issue.

Next Steps:

  • Please let me know if this issue is still relevant with the latest version of the desktop app by commenting here.
  • If I don’t hear back within 7 days, the issue will be automatically closed.

Thanks for your understanding and contribution!
