Summary

The NVIDIA driver (R580) warning currently lives in the main process (InstallationManager) and runs during freshInstall(). We want to move this warning into the frontend install flow so the UI controls when and how it appears.

Motivation

  • Make the warning placement and UX explicit in the frontend
  • Avoid backend modal timing confusion
  • Easier to adjust messaging and trigger conditions

Notes

  • Current check uses nvidia-smi and minimum version 580
  • Warning should appear during install flow for NVIDIA-selected device

Acceptance Criteria

  • Driver warning logic owned by frontend
  • Backend exposes a simple capability/driver query (or uses existing IPC) as needed
  • Warning placement clearly in UI flow (e.g., after device selection)
