What
Adds an "OpenAI Compatible" speech-to-text provider, mirroring the existing OpenAI Compatible TTS provider (
openai-compatible.jsin the TTS extension). Exposes a free-text Provider Endpoint, Model, and optional API Key field.Why
See SillyTavern/SillyTavern#3027 — lets self-hosted OpenAI-API-compatible transcription servers be used without being tied to a hardcoded cloud provider.
Dependency
Requires the companion SillyTavern core PR adding
POST /api/openai/custom/transcribe-audio: SillyTavern/SillyTavern#5914Analysis and initial implementation done in collaboration with Claude Code.
