I have a concern on how this downloader handles files that have same name. If there's already file with same name Kemono post has, what does downloader do with it? Does it rename the newly downloaded one or just replaces old file with new one?
@Yuvi9587 commented on GitHub (Jun 18, 2025):
If file have same content (no matter the name) than it will match the Hash if hash matched skipped if not downloaded, and if file which have different content but same name it will add a suffix in the end (eg.. _1, _2, etc) so you don't have to worry it will not download the same file and will not skip a single unique file
@Shararamosh commented on GitHub (Jun 18, 2025):
Thanks!
@Shararamosh commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
I've noticed the following behavior of the file renaming:
Let's say there's a file named "name.jpg" already downloaded to the directory. If another file is different and also has name "name.jpg", the downloader will change it to "name_1.jpg". However beginning with third file that has same name, downloader seems to just ignore it. These Kemono Patreon posts seem to be affected: 76374143, 76408891 and 76412526. The first file of each has the same name across all 3 posts and this downloader only grabs the first two.
@Yuvi9587 commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
Maybe it's a duplicate that was skipped due to a hash match. I've never encountered a post where three different files had the same name, so I haven't had a chance to test that scenario. But if you can share that post, I can test it in the downloader or you can share the message of post processing of progress log

All the 3 post have 2 files name "MILLIE+COMIC+01.jpg" and "MILLIE+COMIC+02.jpg" so is it downloading only 1 post and ignoring other 2?
@Yuvi9587 commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
This happed to me
it renamed them correctly what settings you're using?
@Shararamosh commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
Weird, these are the ones I ended up with after downloading all posts and re-downloading all posts with errors.
The changes I made to default settings are unchecking "Skip. zip", "Skip.rar" and "Separate Folders by Name/Title" and changing threads amount from 4 to 6. I did encounter a bunch of errors, because sometimes Kemono's DDoS-Guard blocks connections from Russia, but I did checked all files in "Error" menu and re-downloaded them.
@Yuvi9587 commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
It's look like a bug are this retry files which were failed in main download?
@Shararamosh commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
Can't say for sure - there were around 100 errors. Also some files (not from the posts I listed) ended up downloading with either .part extension instead of .jpg or with no extension at all. They were not corrupted though, just missed .jpg extension.
@Yuvi9587 commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
Will fix it soon, it's a big I think
@Shararamosh commented on GitHub (Jun 28, 2025):
Also one of files ended up being named "httpswww.patreon.commedia-uZ0FBQUFBQmkyMTZlZmNVRldZdjNiTHhiOEswUTNQSkZ5d3lJZ0FBQ19uT3NxU2lFc1JKSXJuMVJoZGVEREt0LTFYbmN3dTFnYm9fVC1kbkFuY0Itcnk2ZUoxdnd" with no extension. It seems to be from patreon/user/2723646/post/69351103 according to Kemono's Hash Lookup.
