Return the master promotion commit to dev so both permanent branches share the release history. The source trees match; this PR introduces no source or dependency change.
Merge with a regular merge commit only after the stable source tag v1.260910.0 and its tagged consumers are verified, and after this PR's exact merge-result CI succeeds. This keeps the branches ready for future releases and upstream syncs.
