After updating my iPad from iPadOS 26.6 to iPadOS 26.6.1, AmneziaVPN 5.0.1.5 stopped passing any traffic.

Both AmneziaWG and VLESS show Connected, but there is no Internet access.

Before the update, the same iPad worked normally. Another Apple device using the same Amnezia Premium subscription still works normally, and other VPN apps also work normally on this iPad.

I have already tried:

  • rebooting the iPad
  • reinstalling AmneziaVPN
  • resetting/reloading the API config multiple times
  • recreating the VPN configuration
  • testing multiple nodes
  • testing both Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot
  • resetting iPad network settings
  • testing both AWG and VLESS
  • confirming split tunneling is disabled

AWG logs repeatedly show:

everHadHandshake=false

Handshake did not complete after 5 seconds, retrying

This happens across multiple different Premium endpoints.

VLESS/Xray also starts normally, but no traffic passes.

Possibly related issues: #3068, #1041, #2219.

Please investigate whether this is an iPadOS 26.6.1 compatibility regression in AmneziaVPN / the iOS Network Extension.

I can provide the full diagnostic logs privately if needed.

Additional diagnostic detail from a clean reproduction session (previous app log cleared before testing):

  • 9 tunnel starts in total: 5 AmneziaWG attempts and 4 VLESS/Xray attempts.
  • The 5 AWG attempts used 4 distinct Premium endpoints.
  • The clean log contains 27 occurrences of Handshake did not complete after 5 seconds, retrying and 20 occurrences of everHadHandshake=false.
  • No successful AWG handshake state was observed during that clean session.
  • For VLESS/Xray, the Network Extension starts (keys=[xray], Xray started / Hev socks started), but traffic still does not pass.

Because the same iPad worked normally before updating to iPadOS 26.6.1, while other VPN applications on the same device continue to work, this increasingly looks like a client-side / iPadOS 26.6.1 compatibility regression rather than a single server or configuration issue.

I have kept the full raw log private because it contains Premium endpoint addresses and internal connection identifiers, but I can provide it privately to maintainers if needed.
