Hi DeepSeek team,

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to suggest a feature that could improve the platform's usability: the ability to pin chats in the sidebar.

Why is this feature useful?

  • Quick Access: Pinning allows users to keep their most important chats easily accessible at the top of the sidebar without scrolling through their chat history.
  • Reference Material: Pinned chats can serve as quick references for frequently needed information, templates, or ongoing projects.
  • Workspace Organization: It helps users organize their workspace by highlighting high-priority or frequently accessed chats.

Proposed Implementation:

  • Add a "Pin" option to the chat options menu in the sidebar (e.g., accessible via right-click or a three-dot menu).
  • Allow users to pin a limited number of chats (e.g., 3-5) to avoid sidebar clutter.
  • Display pinned chats in a dedicated section at the top of the sidebar, above the regular chat list.

Additional Considerations:

  • Visual Design: Pinned chats could have a distinct visual indicator (e.g., a pin icon) and possibly a different background color.
  • Drag-and-Drop: Allow users to reorder their pinned chats within the pinned section.

This feature would be a great addition to DeepSeek's chat interface, and I believe it would help users work more efficiently. Let me know your thoughts or if you need further clarification!

Thanks for considering this request!

Best regards,
Sajit Magesh

[Edit: I meant pinned conversations, not texts/chats. My bad. I modified the request to suit accordingly. Pinned chats are almost as useless as asking AI to cook for you, haha!)

(I apologise if my Google Translate isn't working as intended).

I desperately need this feature!
chatting with deepseek has been part of my day to day life just like chatting with friends. now the side bar is so congested that it became impossible to track threads of conversations
