Gateway API support removes the need to have MetalLB with an IPPool.
Relevant TCP and UDP routes can be created for Wolf.
Not sure how this fits into the current architecture since the README mentions an outdated design.
@axolotlite commented on GitHub (Aug 25, 2026):
The initial plan was to implement a UDP/TCP Routes in Gateway API for the moonlight proxy to effectively proxy all streams to their respective users.
That is still planned, although it would put a hop and a slight delay, there is currently no better solution.
However, I'm currently working on getting wolf to work on a single node, before making it work on multiple nodes at the same time.
Once that's complete, the gateway routes implementation will start.

If there is a test branch can you link it? Id like to follow the progress/contribute (time permitting). I was planning on trying to get this to work in k8s too but I was underestimating the work based on what I see in this repo.
@axolotlite commented on GitHub (Aug 25, 2026):
Single node implementation is ready, and I am currently trying to test it.
This is the latest PR in the Wolf-DRA implementation: https://github.com/games-on-whales/fenrir/pull/56
and I've merged all of the other PRs into my own fork to test it on my gaming PC: https://github.com/axolotlite/fenrir
Once I get it working, I'll be opening a new PR with the applications I've tested.
and once single node is ready and merged into upstream, I'll start working on multi-node, followed by the gateway api.

Great, thanks a lot for your work on this! I look forward to it being merged
