Summary:

Wolf exposes the ability to configure per-client settings using the following endpoint:

curl http://localhost/api/v1/clients/settings \
  --request POST \
  --header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data '{
    "app_state_folder": "",
    "client_id": "",
    "settings": {
      "controllers_override": ["XBOX"],
      "h_scroll_acceleration": 1,
      "mouse_acceleration": 1,
      "run_gid": 1,
      "run_uid": 1,
      "v_scroll_acceleration": 1
    }
}'

More details are available in the [Wolf API documentation](https://games-on-whales.github.io/wolf/stable/dev/api.html#tag/default/post/api/v1/clients/settings).

Proposal:

Expose relevant settings in the WolfManager UI by adding an Edit button next to each paired client. When clicked, it should display a modal dialog allowing the user to configure the following settings:

  • controllers_override: Dropdown with known controller types (e.g., XBOX, PS5, etc.)
  • mouse_acceleration: Dropdown or numeric input (suggest range 0-5)
  • h_scroll_acceleration and v_scroll_acceleration: Similar to mouse acceleration

On confirmation, this form will submit the updated values to the /api/v1/clients/settings endpoint.

Benefits:

  • Gives users more control over client-specific behavior without modifying the config manually
  • Reduces friction when optimizing performance or compatibility for certain clients
  • Bridges a gap between Wolf’s backend configuration API and the UI
