Adds a verified contribution in tests/test_precision.py.

Adds focused offline regression coverage for normalize_precision aliases, case normalization, supported low-precision values, unknown/empty strings, and invalid non-string inputs. The tests match the shown implementation behavior, do not alter production code or out-of-scope areas, and the complete test suite was reported as passing (18 passed, 7 subtests passed). No additional policies were provided.

Verification

python -m pytest -q — 18 passed. Tests ran in an isolated environment with network disabled. A separate automated review approved the patch; maintainer review remains pending. No auto-merge.
