Scope

Add inspect_artifact, trace_feature, trace_call_path, find_code_for_string, inspect_native_api, compare_functions, compare_artifacts, build_evidence_bundle, and list_unknowns.

Separate observations, derived relationships, hypotheses, contradictions, unexplored branches, limitations, and next probes.

Acceptance criteria

Substeps and evidence IDs are inspectable.
Substep errors cannot become success.
Fan-out is bounded and cancellable.
Strings/symbols can be traced to bounded call paths.

Roadmap expansion

Investigation workflows must preserve unsupported branches, truncation, contradictions, authority blockers, and recommended next probes as evidence-linked residual unknowns rather than prose or silent omissions.

Current main already supplies investigation workspaces, trace_feature, call paths, comparisons, evidence bundles, and residual-unknown queries. The issue should remain open only for missing agent-facing orchestration and inspectable substeps such as native-API reconstruction; broad evidence-workflow foundations are delivered and should not be reimplemented here.
