Before submitting

  • I searched the open and closed issues for a related report.
  • I removed credentials, tokens, private paths, and sensitive target data.

Area

Android / CLI

Version

rea-agents 6.7.0 (latest on npm at filing time), JADX engine via REA_JADX_MCP_JAR, macOS, OpenJDK 21.

Observed behavior

inspect-android-method returns invalid_request, with no reason, when the class is an inner or anonymous class named with $ (binary name), or when the method belongs to a nested class:

npx rea-agents@6.7.0 inspect-android-method app.apk 'com.example.MainViewModel$fetchData$1' invokeSuspend --format json
npx rea-agents@6.7.0 inspect-android-method app.apk 'com.example.Manager$WorkerThread' run --format json

Both return invalid_request and no details. The same classes decompile normally in the JADX CLI.

Related, but not the same: #5971 covers missing details.issues for empty required strings. Here the inputs are non-empty and valid binary names, so the request should not fail validation at all.

Expected behavior

Binary names with $ (and nested-class methods) resolve to the class as JADX names it, or the error states which argument is invalid and why.

Workaround

The JADX CLI (1.5.6).
