Observed behavior

Source-only documentation finding. The Indonesian and Italian README editions list local raw/hex input as the requirement for EVM bytecode analysis and caller-supplied pwntools for recorded-crash analysis, without the Linux x64 host prerequisite. The English edition includes that prerequisite for both capabilities. All 20 other translated editions also retain it in both requirement cells.

I ran the Python comparison below from the repository root. It prints whether each requirement cell contains Linux x64: both English cells print True, while both cells in each of these two translations print False. No analysis provider was executed.

Reproduction

  1. Check out the source revision below. No analysis fixture or provider installation is needed.
  2. From the repository root, run:
python3 - <<'PYTHON'
from pathlib import Path
for name in ['README.md', 'docs/readme/README_id.md', 'docs/readme/README_it.md']:
    for line in Path(name).read_text().splitlines():
        if line.startswith('|') and any(link in line for link in ['evm-bytecode.md)', 'recorded-crashes.md)']):
            cells = line.split('|')
            print(name, cells[1].strip(), 'Linux x64' in cells[-2])
PYTHON
  1. Compare the requirements with the English edition and follow the EVM and recorded-crash guide links. The prerequisite is missing from the Indonesian and Italian requirement cells, even though both workflows require that host.

The comparison ran twice with the same six results. This is a deterministic source discrepancy at the stated revision.

Expected behavior

Readers should receive the same host prerequisite in each README edition: these two analysis capabilities require Linux x64. The contribution guide instructs translators to check requirements and analysis claims against the English README. The English table states the prerequisite, the linked guides document Linux x64 verification scope, and the production providers enforce the restriction.

The x86-64 and AArch64 core formats described in the recorded-crash guide are input architectures; their support does not expand the supported host architectures.

Impact and scope

P3: the demonstrated defect is incomplete compatibility wording in four documentation cells. No blocked user workflow, lost data, or incorrect analysis result was demonstrated. The production host checks remain present. A reader can consult the English requirements table and the linked guides for the supported environment.

The comparison covered English and all 22 translated README editions. Only Indonesian and Italian omit Linux x64 in these two requirement cells. Other documentation claims and native-speaker translation quality were not assessed.

REA version

Exact node scripts/rea.mjs --version output:

6.8.0

Source revision: 65f1c447344a423fa2785847dbcea1e9a9e2454a.

Runtime and platform

Node.js v24.22.1; macOS 27.0.1; Darwin arm64. The version command ran with isolated HOME/XDG paths. Documentation and provider guards were inspected statically; no EVM or pwntools analysis was started.

Target and artifact context

Repository documentation only. No binary, core dump, or EVM artifact is required for the comparison.

Relevant output or evidence

The reproduction command printed:

README.md EVM bytecode True
README.md Recorded Linux crashes True
docs/readme/README_id.md Bytecode EVM False
docs/readme/README_id.md Crash Linux yang direkam False
docs/readme/README_it.md Bytecode EVM False
docs/readme/README_it.md Crash Linux registrati False

At the stated revision:

  • Expected requirement cells: README.md:207 and README.md:209.
  • Missing qualifiers: docs/readme/README_id.md:161 and docs/readme/README_id.md:167; docs/readme/README_it.md:158 and docs/readme/README_it.md:164.
  • Translation contract: CONTRIBUTING.md:305-312.
  • Supported public operations and verification scope: docs/evm-bytecode.md:3-29 and docs/recorded-crashes.md:3-21,68-73. The EVM guide also requires caller-provided util-linux prlimit.
  • Source-derived host admission: src/evm/EvmoleInterfaceProvider.ts:89-96,487-493 and src/native/pwntools/PwntoolsDecoder.ts:74-81,295-301. Both require Linux and x64 before provider execution and otherwise raise a capability-unavailable error. These guards were read, not executed during this verification.

Analysis or suspected cause

The earlier host-requirements correction, PR #1422, changed English and 16 translations. Its landed commit b32a11e1a7a1148bd8a2964cb197925ee9f9fb46 already contains both Indonesian and Italian files, but neither is in that correction's changed-file list. The missing qualifiers are therefore a remaining gap in that correction, rather than evidence that corrected wording later regressed. Why those two files were omitted is unknown.

Additional context

Duplicate checks covered open and closed issues, all-state PRs, and issue comments using host-requirement, language-name, and exact-filename queries. Related issues #958, #1453, #4564, #6731, #2679, #3167, #4397, #7596 and tracker #3795 concern other wording, translation additions, links, providers, or target-architecture help. PRs #1455, #1512 and #1861 added or synchronized these editions; #4566 and #4570 concern procps/Go/SQLite/Bun facts. No issue reporting these four omissions was found. PR #1422 is related prior work but did not repair these files.
