📄 Description

Summary

Put Get started first in the shared navigation. The homepage's pale “Setup guide” button becomes Get started →, using the same label as the navigation in all 19 language editions, with a clearer blue outline, stronger text and a light hover background.

This is a user-requested usability adjustment; no separate issue was opened.

Problem and expected behavior

Onboarding appeared after Showcases and Blog, and its homepage button was easy to overlook. Readers can now find the setup entry immediately in the navigation or beside “See how REA works.”

Change and scope

Update the navigation's source definition, regenerate the 17 shared English headers, and update the homepage message in all 18 translation catalogs. Other catalog changes are regenerated source references. The decorative arrow is hidden from assistive technology and mirrors in Arabic/Persian. Keep the REA brand on one line on narrow phones and let the current language name shrink with an ellipsis; the expanded menu and accessible text retain its full name.

The stronger button style is scoped to the homepage setup link. Routes, search metadata and the manual publication workflow are unchanged.

Contract and boundary impact

  • Owner: shared website navigation and authored homepage styles/text.
  • Contribution scope: website usability; separate maintainer capability decision not applicable.
  • CLI/MCP, providers, Evidence, target authority, upstream behavior and cleanup: no changes.
  • Generated product metadata, package installation and runtime release: no changes. Generated website output remains ignored.

Expected effects:

  • Documentation or usability only; no target interaction.

Evidence and regression coverage

No new tests for this reversible presentation adjustment. Existing website integration checks exercise regeneration, catalogs, links and metadata. Browser checks exercised each language's navigation, matching button label, hover, keyboard focus/activation and RTL arrow.

Validation performed

  • python scripts/website.py check — 12 regressions pass; 325 HTML pages, 20,470 local references and 323 indexed routes verified.
  • python scripts/website.py translations check --strict — all 18 catalogs complete, with 1,477 source messages.
  • msgfmt --check-format — all 18 catalogs pass.
  • Chromium: 76 homepage checks across all 19 editions, 320px/1440px and root//rea/ hosting; no overflow, script errors or missing local assets. Checked the narrow header in all 19 editions.
  • Formatter check and npm run check:fast — pass.

Compatibility, safety, and release

No migration or runtime package release. Production publication remains a separate, manually triggered action; this task authorizes the PR and merge. Browser validation ran on Linux Chromium.

Before merge

  • Agreed, focused usability improvement with resolved scope.
  • Conventional title; reason for no issue given above.
  • Appropriate existing checks and actual browser workflows exercised.
  • Authored navigation, shared HTML and translation catalogs synchronized.
  • Diff checked for private data, unrelated cleanup and unsupported claims.
