📄 Description

Builds on #7260: the branch holds #7260's commits until it merges, and this PR's own changes are 19f1f8f9,
d1bb6477, a2606f34, 93821024 and 45832406.

Summary

Environments built from a prompt withheld some writes in every recording of an application, though each recording read
the write back:

  • Soft deletes. EspoCRM keeps a deleted record: a read of it answers 200 with the record and deleted: true.
Replay took that as the record still being there, so contact and task deletes were contradicted or unconfirmed.
  • maxSize. EspoCRM pages lists with maxSize, which REA did not know as a page size: a list line was not taken
as listing the whole collection, and a served list answered only the recorded page sizes.
  • Fields only later reads show. Vikunja shows subscription only on tasks created after the recording started.
The task view did not show it, so reads of created tasks contradicted the update before them, and an update whose
answer shows it could not answer for a seeded task.

This PR:

  1. Treats an item read whose object is marked deleted (deleted, isDeleted or is_deleted set to true) as an
absent entity, as a 404 is, in read checks, replay and adoption.
  2. Learns maxSize, max_results and maxResults as page sizes.
  3. Adds to an item view the fields only reads after its type's first write show, when no initial entity holds them,
without requiring them; write answers leave such a field out for entities without it.
  4. Updates the skill: updates change the fields a person would change (a name, an email address, a status, a due
date), and a deleted object may read back marked deleted.

Results:

  • Over 130 recorded captures, served writes go from 328 to 339 and none goes from served to withheld: EspoCRM contact
deletes in seven recordings, the published EspoCRM task delete, and Vikunja task updates in three recordings. With
current main merged, whose unknown-clock withholds clock writes without an anchor on both builds, they go from 322
to 332 (one of the Vikunja task updates is among those it withholds).
  • Rebuilding 11 recordings with #7260 and with this branch, 40 write tasks pass 25/40 and 20/40 (gpt-oss, GLM) against
15/40 and 15/40, and no recording passes fewer. EspoCRM goes from 1/3 to 3/3 (gpt-oss) and 2/3 (GLM) on each of five
recordings: the contact delete passes with both models, and gpt-oss passes the contact update only by replacing the
    contact (below).

Problem and expected behavior

  • A read that answers a deleted record marked deleted should confirm the delete, as a 404 does.
  • A list paged by maxSize should be paged by any value, and a line paged only by it should count as listing the
    collection.
  • A field an application adds only to entities created later should not contradict writes, nor stop an update
    answering for entities without it.
  • Captures that need none of this should build the same plans as before.

Change and scope

  • Soft deletes (environmentStateRules.ts, environmentStateWriteChecks.ts, environmentStateWriteAdoption.ts,
EnvironmentStateWriteSimulation.ts): markedDeleted; an item-read check passes only when the state no longer holds
the entity; adoption refuses such an object; replay's resync removes the entity.
  • Page sizes (environmentStatePaging.ts, environmentStateListQuery.ts): the names join the paging, page-size and
limit sets, matched ignoring case as before.
  • Later fields (EnvironmentStateExtraction.ts, environmentStateGate.ts): extraction collects the members later
plain item reads show of the entity they name; the gate adds those no merged entity holds to the item view, unrequired.
  • Answers (environmentStateWriteApply.ts, environmentStateWriteAnswer.ts, environmentStateWriteVerdict.ts):
laterItemFields names the item view's fields no initial entity holds; writtenResponse and the
incomplete-entities check skip them for entities without them. A field some initial entity holds keeps the
existing rule (an answer showing it is refused for an entity without it).
  • Skill (version 52) and docs: docs/web-network-captures.md and
    docs/specs/agent-environments/write-later-reads/.

Not included: Vikunja's task create (still unexplained-change); Vikunja's served task update accepts only what
the recorded update stored, so a task marking a task done is refused until a recording changes done.

Contract and boundary impact

  • Semantic owner and earliest changed stage: the environment-state write model (src/domain/analysisView) and the
    served write answers.
  • Contribution scope fit and linked maintainer decision: within the environment-state writes of #4933.
  • CLI and MCP/tool-catalog contract: no schema change; the MCP catalog is unchanged. Item views may list more
fields, and list views may name maxSize, max_results or maxResults as limit where they named it inert.
  • Provider, bridge, target-format, or platform compatibility: unchanged.
  • Evidence, artifact, provenance, or reconstruction contract: unchanged; views parse with earlier versions.
  • Target selection, authority, upstream behavior, and cleanup details: not applicable.
  • Generated metadata, package, or installation impact: skill version 51 to 52, on #7260's 51.

Expected effects:

  • Read existing files or captured data.
  • Launch or attach to a process.
  • Inject instrumentation or run scripts/code.
  • Change process memory, registers, files, or configuration.
  • Contact network services.
  • Recover protected code or work around protections.
  • Documentation or usability only; no target interaction.
  • Not sure yet; investigation or maintainer guidance needed.

Evidence and regression coverage

Write plans (local, #7260's head 053264bd against this branch, 130 captures: the 109 #7260 measured and its 21
fresh recordings):

Captures Write plans Served on #7260 This branch
50 published 187 70 71
80 recorded from a prompt 428 258 268

No plan's rules, body or insert changes. Every view was compared too: 73 list views name a page size as limit
instead of inert (72 EspoCRM, one Umami maxResults), one EspoCRM list gains a whole-collection line and explains
its other line, six item views gain one unrequired field (Vikunja subscription ×4, Homebox children, Mattermost
has_reactions), and no view explains fewer lines.

The same recordings, built by #7260 and by this branch (Claude Code claude-sonnet-5-5 recordings; write tasks run
with fireworks_ai/gpt-oss-120b then fireworks_ai/glm-5p3-flash, each checked from the environment's state):

Recording Write tasks #7260 This branch
EspoCRM: main, #7260 (three), saved-values 5 × 3 5/15 5/15 15/15 10/15
EspoCRM: saved-values, leftover contact 3 0/3 0/3 0/3 0/3
Vikunja: main, #7260 final, saved-values (two) 4 × (3 + 2) 8/20 8/20 8/20 8/20
Homebox: main 2 2/2 2/2 2/2 2/2
Total 40 15/40 15/40 25/40 20/40
  • EspoCRM's contact delete passes with both models on all five recordings. Its contact update passes with gpt-oss on
all five only by replacing the contact: the served update refuses emailAddress, which no recorded update stored, so
the agent created a contact with the new address and deleted the old one, which the task's check, by name and
address, accepts. The update itself is refused in both builds, as is a read of a seeded contact by id (the state
knows seeded contacts only from list reads). An earlier version of this body guessed the maxSize change was the
cause; the agent trajectories show otherwise.

  • The leftover-contact recording holds a contact an earlier attempt left as seeded data, so every "nothing else
changed" check fails in both builds.

  • Vikunja's newly served task update accepts title, description and priority, the members its recordings stored,
so the mark-done task is refused in both builds; the skill now asks for status changes.

  • Tests added or updated: src/domain/analysisView/environmentStateLaterReads.test.ts (plans) and
    src/application/environment/environmentStateLaterReadsAnswer.test.ts (serving), with fixtures in
    tests/fixtures/environmentStateLaterReads.ts.

  • Base reproduction or other evidence: the six behaviour tests fail on 053264bd. The existing test refusing chapter
rows for a book the state holds without them still passes; a first version that left out every unrequired field
broke it, and the rule was narrowed to fields no initial entity holds.

  • User-visible CLI/MCP output: served write tool lists and answers as above.

  • Remaining proof gaps: see "Not verified" in the spec folder's verification.

For evidence-bearing changes:

  • Observed, derived, and inferred claims remain distinguishable.
  • Artifact identity, source provenance, and failed attempts remain preserved.
  • Unsupported, incomplete, unavailable, or uncertain outcomes remain visible.

Validation performed

  • npm run -s check:fast, scan:todos, docs:check, verify:test-discovery, mcp-catalog:check, jscpd: passed.
  • npx oxfmt --check .: reports scripts/verify-apk-signature.mjs only, which 053264bd reports too.
  • npx knip: reports isToolFamilyId in src/contracts/toolFamilies.ts only, as main does.
  • npx vitest run --project domain --project services --project adapters: 18,420 passed, 25 skipped, 1 failed ("stops
Inspector target authorization after the current stat settles"), as on main here.
  • npm run -s test:focused -- environment build, export and serve CLI, analysis-view CLI and MCP, environment serve
MCP boundaries: 7 files, 75 passed.
  • Census and task runs as above; the task runs on Ubuntu 24.04 VMs.

First review round at d1bb6477 (#7260's b490c8fd, with main 19b2972d, merged in 4515a000), on macOS with Node
v24.22.1:

  • d1bb6477 renders a bulk update's answer with the single answer's allowance for fields only later reads show, so a
bulk update of a seeded task is not refused for lacking subscription (Greptile follow-up). Its test fails on
    4515a000.
  • check:fast, format:check, knip, scan:todos, docs:check, verify:test-discovery, mcp-catalog:check and
    jscpd: passed. domain + services: 11,295 passed, 1 failed (SetupRegistrationPrewarm's detached-descendant
test); adapters: 7,382 passed, 1 failed (the Inspector stat test). Both fail the same way on main. Focused CLI and
MCP boundaries: 7 files, 77 passed.
  • Census over the 130 captures: 615 plans and 339 served, the same as at 19f1f8f9 with no plan's rules, body,
insert or verdict changing, and every view the same.

Second review round at e839af3f (#7260's 3de7d9a7, with main c6893d1a, merged in f9fc957e), on macOS with Node
v24.22.1:

  • a2606f34 answers a read of a served-deleted entity as the application does (Greptile follow-up): serving keeps an
entity a served delete removed from a type whose recorded item reads mark deleted records, until a reset or load and
within the size data/add loads, and a read of it by id answers its last fields with the flag true. Its serving
test fails on 4ede1305, where the read was refused. 3de7d9a7 (#7260) fixes the sorted-read narrowing thread.

  • check:fast, format:check, knip, scan:todos, docs:check, verify:test-discovery, mcp-catalog:check and
jscpd: passed. domain + services: 11,350 passed. Focused CLI and MCP boundaries: 7 files, 79 passed.

  • Census over the 130 captures: 615 plans; 322 served on #7260's 3de7d9a7 and 332 on this head, none going from served
to withheld. Against 19f1f8f9 (339), the seven fewer are all unknown-clock from main's 63220edc, six of them on
    #7260 too. e839af3f records this in verification.md.

  • a98ae5fd merges #7260's 28cda1f3, whose #retrySort fix for Greptile's rename-order thread changes no plan
here: check:fast, format:check, knip, docs:check, jscpd and the other static checks pass, domain +
services 11,351 passed, focused boundaries 79 passed, and the census stays at 615 plans and 332 served.

  • e29e9c74 merges #7260's 4b233f76 (main 8706068b, and fixes for the two Greptile threads posted here on
e839af3f, replied in each): the static checks pass but knip, which reports staticFileUrlPath and
ObjcClassImportBindingCoverage as main 8706068b does; domain + services 11,419 passed; focused boundaries 79
passed; the census stays at 615 plans and 332 served, with no plan changing.

  • 93821024 makes the state view the one owner of the soft-delete rule (Greptile follow-up): extraction records the
member later item reads set true on a soft-deleted record, item views carry it as deleted_flag, and serving reads
that instead of scanning recorded bodies. Its view test fails on e29e9c74. Over the 130 captures, the three item
views whose reads mark a deleted record (EspoCRM's tasks and two recordings' contacts) carry the flag; the census
stays at 615 plans and 332 served. Static checks pass but knip, as on main 8706068b; domain + services
11,420 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed.

  • 45832406 learns the flag from every successful read of the item tool, with or without a query, so a client that
reads a deleted record back only with a cache-busting parameter still gets it (Greptile follow-up); only plain later
reads still add fields. Its view and serving tests fail on 93821024. The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served,
with the same three item views flagged; static checks pass but knip, as on main; domain + services 11,421
    passed; focused boundaries 79 passed.

  • 8cf67b0d fixes three Codex threads and a Greptile thread from #7332 (replied in each): a read that shows a held
entity marked deleted drops it instead of adopting it; bulk replay renders with the plan's optional members and
later-only fields; a served delete, single or bulk, answers with the record marked deleted; and the flag stays a
later field when only a query read showed it. Its four tests fail on 45832406. 2887dbf0 and 88e16f10 merge
#7260's 1da04f69 and 94460e80, which give an update its type's sort only from a placed create, in replay as in
serving (the fourth Codex thread). The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served; one plan changes, Metabase
put_card_by_id losing a name sort only its create guessed. Static checks pass but knip, as on main; domain +
services 11,429 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed.

  • 3bf6ef39 answers a served delete, single or bulk, with the deleted flag its recorded answer showed, since an
application may answer a delete with the record as it was and mark it deleted only on later reads (Greptile
follow-up); later reads still show it marked deleted. Its two tests fail on 88e16f10. 67afb9df merges #7260's
6976a156, whose sort retry moves pending writes in turn as serving does (Greptile follow-up posted here). The
    census stays at 615 plans and 332 served with no plan or view changing; static checks pass but knip, as on main;
domain + services 11,432 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed.

  • ebeea8ce merges #7260's main merge (main 5aa23c3d) in 79c0e515 without a conflict and takes skill 52 above
#7260's 51. The diff against main touches the same 43 files as before. Census: main 279, this branch 332, none going
from served to withheld; against 67afb9df only three Grafana folder creates change, to the rules main gives them.
Static checks pass but knip, which reports main's three findings; domain + services 11,671 passed and 8 failed
(appleApplication.test.ts, as on main); focused boundaries 79 passed; the five MCP schema files 54 passed.

  • 0453253c merges #7260's 2526c652 (the docstring above writtenBulkResponse was the only conflict), which fixes
the two Greptile threads posted here on ebeea8ce: a sort a whole list showed a renamed entity in place against is
ruled out, and create answers keep their recorded nested members. The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served with
no plan or view changing; static checks pass but knip (main's three findings); domain + services 11,674 passed
and 8 failed (appleApplication.test.ts, as on main); focused boundaries 79 passed. CI's failing jobs fail the
    same tests on main 5aa23c3d.

Compatibility, safety, and release

  • Breaking changes or migration steps: none.
  • Real Hopper/Ghidra, browser, or OS coverage: not applicable; the change is in the offline write model and served
    answers, rebuilt from existing recordings.
  • Package or release metadata impact: skill version 52.
  • Security, privacy, process, or containment review: no new credential handling. An application that answers
deleted: true for a record it still lists (a trash view) would have that read count as absent; no recorded capture
    does this.

Maintainer validation

At 1106a5263, replay retains removed entity fields and checks soft-deleted item reads against the response serving would render. The new regression fails on 0453253cb. check:fast and four focused source test files passed (148 tests). No new real-provider run was performed.

At 6edbcaf0f, initially soft-deleted records remain available for item reads and snapshots but are excluded from live replay and serving indexes. The regression failed before the change and covers reads, writes, reload, reset, and ID reuse. check:fast, 401 source tests, and 9 CLI/MCP boundary tests passed. No new real-provider run was performed.

Review-thread verification at 6edbcaf0f: bulk replay passes per-row sent members plus optional and later-only field context to the same response renderer used by serving; create-derived sort rules require a list-confirmed placement; and single and bulk delete answers apply the recorded flag through deleteAnswerFields. The corresponding later-read, form-write, and serving test files passed (48 tests). No new real-provider run was performed.

Replay took that as the record still being there, so contact and task deletes were contradicted or unconfirmed. - **`maxSize`.** EspoCRM pages lists with `maxSize`, which REA did not know as a page size: a list line was not taken as listing the whole collection, and a served list answered only the recorded page sizes. - **Fields only later reads show.** Vikunja shows `subscription` only on tasks created after the recording started. The task view did not show it, so reads of created tasks contradicted the update before them, and an update whose answer shows it could not answer for a seeded task. This PR: 1. Treats an item read whose object is marked deleted (`deleted`, `isDeleted` or `is_deleted` set to `true`) as an absent entity, as a `404` is, in read checks, replay and adoption. 2. Learns `maxSize`, `max_results` and `maxResults` as page sizes. 3. Adds to an item view the fields only reads after its type's first write show, when no initial entity holds them, without requiring them; write answers leave such a field out for entities without it. 4. Updates the skill: updates change the fields a person would change (a name, an email address, a status, a due date), and a deleted object may read back marked deleted. **Results:** - Over 130 recorded captures, served writes go from 328 to 339 and none goes from served to withheld: EspoCRM contact deletes in seven recordings, the published EspoCRM task delete, and Vikunja task updates in three recordings. With current main merged, whose `unknown-clock` withholds clock writes without an anchor on both builds, they go from 322 to 332 (one of the Vikunja task updates is among those it withholds). - Rebuilding 11 recordings with #7260 and with this branch, 40 write tasks pass 25/40 and 20/40 (gpt-oss, GLM) against 15/40 and 15/40, and no recording passes fewer. EspoCRM goes from 1/3 to 3/3 (gpt-oss) and 2/3 (GLM) on each of five recordings: the contact delete passes with both models, and gpt-oss passes the contact update only by replacing the contact (below). ## Problem and expected behavior - A read that answers a deleted record marked deleted should confirm the delete, as a `404` does. - A list paged by `maxSize` should be paged by any value, and a line paged only by it should count as listing the collection. - A field an application adds only to entities created later should not contradict writes, nor stop an update answering for entities without it. - Captures that need none of this should build the same plans as before. ## Change and scope - **Soft deletes** (`environmentStateRules.ts`, `environmentStateWriteChecks.ts`, `environmentStateWriteAdoption.ts`, `EnvironmentStateWriteSimulation.ts`): `markedDeleted`; an item-read check passes only when the state no longer holds the entity; adoption refuses such an object; replay's resync removes the entity. - **Page sizes** (`environmentStatePaging.ts`, `environmentStateListQuery.ts`): the names join the paging, page-size and `limit` sets, matched ignoring case as before. - **Later fields** (`EnvironmentStateExtraction.ts`, `environmentStateGate.ts`): extraction collects the members later plain item reads show of the entity they name; the gate adds those no merged entity holds to the item view, unrequired. - **Answers** (`environmentStateWriteApply.ts`, `environmentStateWriteAnswer.ts`, `environmentStateWriteVerdict.ts`): `laterItemFields` names the item view's fields no initial entity holds; `writtenResponse` and the `incomplete-entities` check skip them for entities without them. A field some initial entity holds keeps the existing rule (an answer showing it is refused for an entity without it). - **Skill** (version 52) and docs: `docs/web-network-captures.md` and `docs/specs/agent-environments/write-later-reads/`. **Not included:** Vikunja's task create (still `unexplained-change`); Vikunja's served task update accepts only what the recorded update stored, so a task marking a task done is refused until a recording changes `done`. ## Contract and boundary impact - **Semantic owner and earliest changed stage:** the environment-state write model (`src/domain/analysisView`) and the served write answers. - **Contribution scope fit and linked maintainer decision:** within the environment-state writes of #4933. - **CLI and MCP/tool-catalog contract:** no schema change; the MCP catalog is unchanged. Item views may list more `fields`, and list views may name `maxSize`, `max_results` or `maxResults` as `limit` where they named it `inert`. - **Provider, bridge, target-format, or platform compatibility:** unchanged. - **Evidence, artifact, provenance, or reconstruction contract:** unchanged; views parse with earlier versions. - **Target selection, authority, upstream behavior, and cleanup details:** not applicable. - **Generated metadata, package, or installation impact:** skill version 51 to 52, on #7260's 51. Expected effects: - [x] Read existing files or captured data. - [ ] Launch or attach to a process. - [ ] Inject instrumentation or run scripts/code. - [ ] Change process memory, registers, files, or configuration. - [ ] Contact network services. - [ ] Recover protected code or work around protections. - [ ] Documentation or usability only; no target interaction. - [ ] Not sure yet; investigation or maintainer guidance needed. ## Evidence and regression coverage **Write plans** (local, #7260's head `053264bd` against this branch, 130 captures: the 109 #7260 measured and its 21 fresh recordings): | Captures | Write plans | Served on #7260 | This branch | | ------------------------- | ----------- | --------------- | ----------- | | 50 published | 187 | 70 | 71 | | 80 recorded from a prompt | 428 | 258 | 268 | No plan's rules, body or `insert` changes. Every view was compared too: 73 list views name a page size as `limit` instead of `inert` (72 EspoCRM, one Umami `maxResults`), one EspoCRM list gains a whole-collection line and explains its other line, six item views gain one unrequired field (Vikunja `subscription` ×4, Homebox `children`, Mattermost `has_reactions`), and no view explains fewer lines. **The same recordings, built by #7260 and by this branch** (Claude Code `claude-sonnet-5-5` recordings; write tasks run with `fireworks_ai/gpt-oss-120b` then `fireworks_ai/glm-5p3-flash`, each checked from the environment's state): | Recording | Write tasks | #7260 | This branch | | ---------------------------------------------- | ----------- | ----------- | ----------- | | EspoCRM: main, #7260 (three), saved-values | 5 × 3 | 5/15 5/15 | 15/15 10/15 | | EspoCRM: saved-values, leftover contact | 3 | 0/3 0/3 | 0/3 0/3 | | Vikunja: main, #7260 final, saved-values (two) | 4 × (3 + 2) | 8/20 8/20 | 8/20 8/20 | | Homebox: main | 2 | 2/2 2/2 | 2/2 2/2 | | Total | 40 | 15/40 15/40 | 25/40 20/40 | - EspoCRM's contact delete passes with both models on all five recordings. Its contact update passes with gpt-oss on all five only by replacing the contact: the served update refuses `emailAddress`, which no recorded update stored, so the agent created a contact with the new address and deleted the old one, which the task's check, by name and address, accepts. The update itself is refused in both builds, as is a read of a seeded contact by id (the state knows seeded contacts only from list reads). An earlier version of this body guessed the `maxSize` change was the cause; the agent trajectories show otherwise. - The leftover-contact recording holds a contact an earlier attempt left as seeded data, so every "nothing else changed" check fails in both builds. - Vikunja's newly served task update accepts `title`, `description` and `priority`, the members its recordings stored, so the mark-done task is refused in both builds; the skill now asks for status changes. - Tests added or updated: `src/domain/analysisView/environmentStateLaterReads.test.ts` (plans) and `src/application/environment/environmentStateLaterReadsAnswer.test.ts` (serving), with fixtures in `tests/fixtures/environmentStateLaterReads.ts`. - Base reproduction or other evidence: the six behaviour tests fail on `053264bd`. The existing test refusing chapter rows for a book the state holds without them still passes; a first version that left out every unrequired field broke it, and the rule was narrowed to fields no initial entity holds. - User-visible CLI/MCP output: served write tool lists and answers as above. - Remaining proof gaps: see "Not verified" in the spec folder's verification. For evidence-bearing changes: - [ ] Observed, derived, and inferred claims remain distinguishable. - [ ] Artifact identity, source provenance, and failed attempts remain preserved. - [ ] Unsupported, incomplete, unavailable, or uncertain outcomes remain visible. ## Validation performed - `npm run -s check:fast`, `scan:todos`, `docs:check`, `verify:test-discovery`, `mcp-catalog:check`, `jscpd`: passed. - `npx oxfmt --check .`: reports `scripts/verify-apk-signature.mjs` only, which `053264bd` reports too. - `npx knip`: reports `isToolFamilyId` in `src/contracts/toolFamilies.ts` only, as main does. - `npx vitest run --project domain --project services --project adapters`: 18,420 passed, 25 skipped, 1 failed ("stops Inspector target authorization after the current stat settles"), as on main here. - `npm run -s test:focused --` environment build, export and serve CLI, analysis-view CLI and MCP, environment serve MCP boundaries: 7 files, 75 passed. - Census and task runs as above; the task runs on Ubuntu 24.04 VMs. First review round at `d1bb6477` (#7260's `b490c8fd`, with main `19b2972d`, merged in `4515a000`), on macOS with Node v24.22.1: - `d1bb6477` renders a bulk update's answer with the single answer's allowance for fields only later reads show, so a bulk update of a seeded task is not refused for lacking `subscription` (Greptile follow-up). Its test fails on `4515a000`. - `check:fast`, `format:check`, `knip`, `scan:todos`, `docs:check`, `verify:test-discovery`, `mcp-catalog:check` and `jscpd`: passed. `domain` + `services`: 11,295 passed, 1 failed (`SetupRegistrationPrewarm`'s detached-descendant test); `adapters`: 7,382 passed, 1 failed (the Inspector stat test). Both fail the same way on main. Focused CLI and MCP boundaries: 7 files, 77 passed. - Census over the 130 captures: 615 plans and 339 served, the same as at `19f1f8f9` with no plan's rules, body, insert or verdict changing, and every view the same. Second review round at `e839af3f` (#7260's `3de7d9a7`, with main `c6893d1a`, merged in `f9fc957e`), on macOS with Node v24.22.1: - `a2606f34` answers a read of a served-deleted entity as the application does (Greptile follow-up): serving keeps an entity a served delete removed from a type whose recorded item reads mark deleted records, until a reset or load and within the size `data/add` loads, and a read of it by id answers its last fields with the flag `true`. Its serving test fails on `4ede1305`, where the read was refused. `3de7d9a7` (#7260) fixes the sorted-read narrowing thread. - `check:fast`, `format:check`, `knip`, `scan:todos`, `docs:check`, `verify:test-discovery`, `mcp-catalog:check` and `jscpd`: passed. `domain` + `services`: 11,350 passed. Focused CLI and MCP boundaries: 7 files, 79 passed. - Census over the 130 captures: 615 plans; 322 served on #7260's `3de7d9a7` and 332 on this head, none going from served to withheld. Against `19f1f8f9` (339), the seven fewer are all `unknown-clock` from main's `63220edc`, six of them on #7260 too. `e839af3f` records this in `verification.md`. - `a98ae5fd` merges #7260's `28cda1f3`, whose `#retrySort` fix for Greptile's rename-order thread changes no plan here: `check:fast`, `format:check`, `knip`, `docs:check`, `jscpd` and the other static checks pass, `domain` + `services` 11,351 passed, focused boundaries 79 passed, and the census stays at 615 plans and 332 served. - `e29e9c74` merges #7260's `4b233f76` (main `8706068b`, and fixes for the two Greptile threads posted here on `e839af3f`, replied in each): the static checks pass but `knip`, which reports `staticFileUrlPath` and `ObjcClassImportBindingCoverage` as main `8706068b` does; `domain` + `services` 11,419 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed; the census stays at 615 plans and 332 served, with no plan changing. - `93821024` makes the state view the one owner of the soft-delete rule (Greptile follow-up): extraction records the member later item reads set `true` on a soft-deleted record, item views carry it as `deleted_flag`, and serving reads that instead of scanning recorded bodies. Its view test fails on `e29e9c74`. Over the 130 captures, the three item views whose reads mark a deleted record (EspoCRM's tasks and two recordings' contacts) carry the flag; the census stays at 615 plans and 332 served. Static checks pass but `knip`, as on main `8706068b`; `domain` + `services` 11,420 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed. - `45832406` learns the flag from every successful read of the item tool, with or without a query, so a client that reads a deleted record back only with a cache-busting parameter still gets it (Greptile follow-up); only plain later reads still add fields. Its view and serving tests fail on `93821024`. The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served, with the same three item views flagged; static checks pass but `knip`, as on main; `domain` + `services` 11,421 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed. - `8cf67b0d` fixes three Codex threads and a Greptile thread from #7332 (replied in each): a read that shows a held entity marked deleted drops it instead of adopting it; bulk replay renders with the plan's optional members and later-only fields; a served delete, single or bulk, answers with the record marked deleted; and the flag stays a later field when only a query read showed it. Its four tests fail on `45832406`. `2887dbf0` and `88e16f10` merge #7260's `1da04f69` and `94460e80`, which give an update its type's sort only from a placed create, in replay as in serving (the fourth Codex thread). The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served; one plan changes, Metabase `put_card_by_id` losing a name sort only its create guessed. Static checks pass but `knip`, as on main; `domain` + `services` 11,429 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed. - `3bf6ef39` answers a served delete, single or bulk, with the deleted flag its recorded answer showed, since an application may answer a delete with the record as it was and mark it deleted only on later reads (Greptile follow-up); later reads still show it marked deleted. Its two tests fail on `88e16f10`. `67afb9df` merges #7260's `6976a156`, whose sort retry moves pending writes in turn as serving does (Greptile follow-up posted here). The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served with no plan or view changing; static checks pass but `knip`, as on main; `domain` + `services` 11,432 passed; focused boundaries 79 passed. - `ebeea8ce` merges #7260's main merge (main `5aa23c3d`) in `79c0e515` without a conflict and takes skill 52 above #7260's 51. The diff against main touches the same 43 files as before. Census: main 279, this branch 332, none going from served to withheld; against `67afb9df` only three Grafana folder creates change, to the rules main gives them. Static checks pass but `knip`, which reports main's three findings; `domain` + `services` 11,671 passed and 8 failed (`appleApplication.test.ts`, as on main); focused boundaries 79 passed; the five MCP schema files 54 passed. - `0453253c` merges #7260's `2526c652` (the docstring above `writtenBulkResponse` was the only conflict), which fixes the two Greptile threads posted here on `ebeea8ce`: a sort a whole list showed a renamed entity in place against is ruled out, and create answers keep their recorded nested members. The census stays at 615 plans and 332 served with no plan or view changing; static checks pass but `knip` (main's three findings); `domain` + `services` 11,674 passed and 8 failed (`appleApplication.test.ts`, as on main); focused boundaries 79 passed. CI's failing jobs fail the same tests on main `5aa23c3d`. ## Compatibility, safety, and release - Breaking changes or migration steps: none. - Real Hopper/Ghidra, browser, or OS coverage: not applicable; the change is in the offline write model and served answers, rebuilt from existing recordings. - Package or release metadata impact: skill version 52. - Security, privacy, process, or containment review: no new credential handling. An application that answers `deleted: true` for a record it still lists (a trash view) would have that read count as absent; no recorded capture does this. ### Maintainer validation At 1106a5263, replay retains removed entity fields and checks soft-deleted item reads against the response serving would render. The new regression fails on 0453253cb. `check:fast` and four focused source test files passed (148 tests). No new real-provider run was performed. At 6edbcaf0f, initially soft-deleted records remain available for item reads and snapshots but are excluded from live replay and serving indexes. The regression failed before the change and covers reads, writes, reload, reset, and ID reuse. `check:fast`, 401 source tests, and 9 CLI/MCP boundary tests passed. No new real-provider run was performed. Review-thread verification at 6edbcaf0f: bulk replay passes per-row sent members plus optional and later-only field context to the same response renderer used by serving; create-derived sort rules require a list-confirmed placement; and single and bulk delete answers apply the recorded flag through `deleteAnswerFields`. The corresponding later-read, form-write, and serving test files passed (48 tests). No new real-provider run was performed. ## Author readiness Human owner: @earakely-scale - [x] I reviewed the final diff and relevant existing code, understand the change and its edge cases, and take responsibility for the complete PR, including AI-assisted work. - [x] I checked the evidence above, confirmed it supports the current change, and recorded meaningful validation gaps. - [x] I declare this PR ready for initial maintainer review. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) --- 🔄 This issue represents a GitHub Pull Request.
