📄 Description

Promotes the Unreleased changelog into v4.3.0 and bumps the version.

Release notes

Added

  • --config PATH before the command name, and the BOOSTY_DOWNLOADER_CONFIG variable, point the app at a config file anywhere: boosty-downloader --config ~/boosty/config.yaml download <creator>. Before, the config could only be config.yaml in the folder the app runs from, and that is still the default

Changed

  • clean-cache asks before removing the cache, since the next run downloads everything again; --yes skips the question in scripts. The command no longer needs credentials: it reads only the folders from the config, and runs without any config when the cache folder is given with --cache-dir
  • Attachments in post.html are file cards now: an icon by file type (video, audio, image, document, archive), the name, the type and the size, and files that stand next to each other share one block. Before, an attachment was a bare link that looked like any other link on the page

Fixed

  • A post whose picture, video or audio track failed to download no longer ends up without post.html: the page is written with a note at the place of the missing piece and the reason, and an external video also links to the original. The post is retried as before and the page is rewritten once the piece arrives
  • A page rewritten after a retry keeps the videos, audio and files that landed on the first attempt. Before, they were dropped from the page because their content types were already cached
  • An external video that is gone for good (deleted, private, blocked, an unsupported link) no longer costs 5 attempts: the post is skipped after the first one with the site's reason, for example "This video is unavailable", the rest of the post is saved and the page marks the video's place. Such posts do not count toward the 5-failures-in-a-row stop

After merge

Run task release:tag - it verifies fresh main and pushes the tag; the tag triggers the release workflow (build -> PyPI -> GitHub Release).
